Hot shots, part deux

Last week, we told you to get your flu shot, but it ain’t as easy as it sounds.

[Updated]

Despite a cheery report of “plenty of vaccine” from the Birmingham News, shots are in scarce supply. The Jefferson County Department of Health is reporting that it will have more vaccine in by tomorrow morning, but it has been out since Nov. 2.

And although NBC 13 is listing three chains offering shots, both Publix and Walgreens have canceled flu shot clinics because of shortages. And the CVS link is now going to a dummy page.

Time to panic? Not yet.

Call the Jefferson County Department of Health at 933-9110 to get info on flu shots in your area. The health department is offering first-come first-serve, starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow, $7 for children, $16.50 for grownups.

Hmm, wonder if they take food stamps …

Update

Two days later, the Birmingham News version. Note overlapping info on retailers canceling clinics.
