Birmingham ShoutThe good news is that Birmingham Shout is still around for a third year, providing films with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender themes. The bad news is that it’s down to five movies and a short (as opposed to 16 films in 2007), moving up to March instead of April.

‘Bi the Way’

7 p.m. | Journeying through the changing sexual landscape of America, “Bi the Way” investigates the latest scientific reports and social opinions on bisexuality. 85 min.

‘Sex Positive’

9:30 p.m. | “Sex Positive” explores the life of Richard Berkowitz, a revolutionary gay S&M hustler turned AIDS activist in the 1980s, whose incomparable contribution to the invention of safe sex has never been aptly credited. 75 min.
