Schadenfreude, a celebration

By

Biff and I are sick people. That’s a given.

That doesn’t mean we’re necessarily bad people, but we ain’t saints either.

Our corruption of ourselves, each other and the world at large has only begun.

And I apologize in advance.

We take sport in lurking on mailing lists and personal blogs. It’s fodder for our lunchtime gossip, like two giddy biddies.

I am a Google nut. If you’ve blogged it, posted it, raved or panned it on a forum, bulletin board, chatroom, dating site, whatever, I’m looking at it. Right. Now.

And then I’m sending it to Biff.

Say what you will, but others — like Ginny — have fallen prey to our bad influence. Or maybe she too had the selfish drive to learn all they could about their fellow miserable human beings. She can’t help herself. Neither can we.

It is the spectacle of “Jerry Springer” over broadband, our twisted ritual of secret high-fiving. We behold what we think we’re not, hope we’re not.

So keep leaving that cybertrail, America. We’re starved for your discarded scraps of existence.

So, what’s the worst thing you’ve uncovered online?

    Seething with hate, I am.

    Just FYI.
