Second chances

When I first launched the site in 2005, I had no idea what I was doing. I stepped out with little experience in building a site from scratch, much less an information portal, gossip sheet, poetry journal or news outlet.
(I still have no idea what I’m doing.)
Today, I’m proud to present the result of weeks of tinkering with a new look, template and add-ons.
The content remains the same. Only the wrapper is brand new, making for a brighter, easier read.
In the right sidebars, you’ll notice:
- Current weather conditions;
- Latest photos from the Magic City Flickr Group;
- Random links from Birmingham-related sites;
- Recent comments from the peanut gallery.
And below, you’ll notice:
- Buttons to share your favorite posts on del.icio.us, digg, Fark, NewsVine and YahooMyWeb;
- Links to e-mail posts, follow comments on RSS or use trackback.
- Navigation bar at the bottom of the page.

Many, many thanks to Kenn, a computer genius who makes me look like a slug on dope working an abacus. Without his generous help and staggering knowledge, versions 1.0 and 2.0 of this site would not have been possible.
And no more coding or debugging for me for a while. Once a year is plenty.

Charles: The Random Image Rotation is really easy to install anywhere on your site. Makes a great way to show off one’s artwork, even as a sidebar item. Congrats on the City Scene mention.
