Wednesday Night Lights: Breaking up is hard to do
By Wade KwonBeat hated rival Spain Park? Easy. Broker peace between split celebrity couple Alex and Kristin? Awkward.
In the land of “Two-a-Days,” the only thing that can stop the Hoover Bucs is … juicy breakup gossip.
Kristin and Alex 4ever
Highlights from episode 2 of the MTV reality series …
Goose cooks: Looks like Alex’s teammate Goose has a crush on Kristin. At the bowling alley and at Applebee’s, she and Goose dodge the Question. Even by the show’s end, we don’t know if Kristin will take Alex back (he apparently lied about spending time with cheerleader Keagan) or get her Goose.
Band chic: Bryan tackles big defensive players. He plays clarinet for marching band. He sings show tunes from “Phantom.” We would make fun of Bryan, but we’re pretty sure he could crush us with his pinky. Bryan, you’re OK with us, but clarinet? Really? Dude.
Brother to brother: Cameo alert! Quarterback Ross’ older brother John tosses a few in the back yard. John led Hoover to two state titles and went on to play for Alabama. Ross appears to struggle in practice. John’s helpful advice: “Y’all better not lose to Spain Park.”
They don’t lose to Spain Park: Max makes a few key tackles. Ross holds it together. Coach Propst: “Let’s go out there and beat the piss out of ’em.” The final … 24-10.
“Two-a-Days” airs at 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays on MTV, repeating throughout the week.
Next episode: Max visits Southern Miss. Hell, that ain’t even in the SEC …

Somewhere down the line I’m expecting Kristin to tell Goose, “I love you like a brother”.
As for Bryan, I figured him as more a tenor sax kinda guy.

I wasn’t going to watch this show, but once I saw Bryan I was past the point of no return. And what you got against clarinets?

“Bryan, you’re OK with us, but clarinet? Really? Dude.”
Ummmm…

Southtrek: She’s definitely putting off that fickle let’s-be-friends vibe.
Vivi: Clarinets are the mortal enemies of my tribe of flutes. How many clarinetists does it take to change a lightbulb? Only one, but he’ll go through a whole box of bulbs before he finds just the right one.
Kenn: Yeah, flutes rule, you know it. Piccs, too.

We have a great program at Southern Miss. Most SEC teams are too scared to play us especially Ole Miss and State. I for one am looking forward to next week’s episode.
