more on flirting (moron flirting)
By Wade KwonBJ is pants shopping at the mall, when he chats up the lovely sales clerk. The pair of trousers he wants (his, not hers) is available from another store. So she takes down his info … “Name.” “Address.” “Phone number.”
After giving his number, he charmingly tosses off, “And your number?” And she giggles at this. But then,
(long pause)
He had two lines to go with: “And YOUR number?” or “You’re not going to stalk me, are you?” He didn’t use either one.
(more pause)
BJ didn’t get her number, but he didn’t fail entirely. He can still come back next week to praise/deride the pants.
I tell this story to show one thing: It’s hard. Even when you’re quick on your feet, you can still stumble.
But he gets points just for going for it. That’s something.
