Wade on Birmingham: Two soon!

We’re no good at remembering anniversaries, even our own.
Saturday marked the two-year anniversary of this humble site, Wade on Birmingham.
At two years plus two days, this site has featured more than 1,200 posts, featuring our favorite city and state, all for our growing and loyal readership. A few highlights from the past 12 months:
- Well, what site can brag about covering reality shows about Hoover football, single moms racing around the world and would-be supermodels? Yikes. Maybe brag’s not the right word.
- We expanded our coverage of the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival this year, with help from contributing writers, and kept close tabs on the mayoral race.
- Our pal C.J. let us pontificate in a recent issue of Birmingham Magazine.
- And this site has opened other doors: teaching classes at UAB, working with others to build more news and blog sites, even promoting good causes in the community.
We couldn’t do it without you, the readers, who keep us honest and looking ahead always. It’s heartening to read your tips, your complaints and your suggestions. And it’s inspiring to see more of you branch out into your own sites, sharing news, insights, photos, videos, jokes, opinions and innermost thoughts.
Wow.
What’s next for year three?
- A close eye on City Hall and the ridiculous thing we call a local government.
- More merch, just as soon as we’re inspired for a snazzier logo.
- And 22 percent more whimsy.
