Wade on Birmingham: Three is a magic number
By Wade KwonAfter 1,752 posts, Wade on Birmingham reaches its third anniversary today.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my insights and spotlights on the city as well as Alabama. On any given day, we’ve seen this city triumph and stumble.
I’m grateful for the support from the community of writers, publishers and activists who have contributed to this space.
But I’m especially grateful to you, the reader, for spending time every so often to check in and weigh in. Thank you for visiting.
A few highlights from the past 12 months:
- We picked up an award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
- We tracked former Alabama football player Roger Shultz through weeks and weeks of “The Biggest Loser.”
- We’ve kept a close eye on politics and crime in this tumultuous year.
- And we hit another milestone: 1,000(!) haiku.
Coming up …
- More reviews.
- One interview I’ve been trying to get to for months.
- What’s it’s like to be a home owner in Birmingham.
As always, keep reading!
